Jay is such a terrific sport! I go to Sedona for retreats one or two times a year. These are wonderful experiences for me, I have learned to let go of emotional silliness that I used to identify with, by attending 'Sedona Method' courses and using these VERY simple techniques. Jay thought it sounded kinda cool and he joined me for the Dec/Jan retreat.
We left the Noyes hacienda and headed down through the National Park. We stopped for the ocassional Spectacular View!

Continuing southward this is the beginning of the Escalante Grand Staircase

As we headed further south we passed lake Powell which Jay has boated on several times in the past. We pulled in to take a look at the water level. Pretty low... we're hoping the winter runoff is decent and will fill the reservoir this year. It's going to take a LOT of water!

We got to Sedona and headed out to Verde Canyon where they have a train that runs up the canyon. It is a scenic route with some terrific history, wildlife and views. It was also a bit nippy outside on the flatcars, but that was where the best views were!

Bald Eagles nest in this canyon and I tried to make this picture a little larger so you could see it, but in the middle of the picture is this little dot that is the bald eagle sitting on the cliff...cooooooollllll.

Miss Sherril found us an AMAZING house to rent for the week. It had a 360degree view of the entire valley as well as being a watering hole for animals. The first morning Jay and I were there we saw this beautiful Cardinal drinking out of the water. It stayed there for quite some time and I got several terrific shots, this being one of the better ones.

Here's the crew relaxing in the living room. You can see the accomodations were quite nice. Good job Miss Sherril!!!

Another terrific shot we got on our very last minutes as we were living the house. Rich had seen Javalina several times while there. The rest of us hadn't because we had been attending the seminar. But at the very last minute, as Jay and I were getting into our car the Javalina came out of the brush! I hope you can see at least the backside of this little guy as I scrambled to get my camera out and not disturb him/her.

Our final Sedonaesque adventure was to hike around some of the cliff dwellings that are there.

We went back into Sedona for a little hot chocolate and then back home to Utah and California. It was a real treat to get to spend a week with Sherri and Richie and to have them meet Jay!!! I feel amazingly blessed!!!
