It's Official!!!

Let the adventure begin. Actually it already began (as you can see below) but we are now really 'offical'.

Nice ending to a dinner at the Asian Star. Now it's officially official. Let forever begin!

Post New Years

We went up to see Pam and Nicole and the babies before Nicole headed back. Unfortunately none of the picture of Nicole and Clark turned out very well but I have a few of my favorite shots of Jay and the little girls

The girls have such fun with Grandpa Jay. Andi just gets a kick out him and it's cool to see she just melts right into him!

Back in Boston winter is raging on! I just love the icycles, but you have to watch out for 'em!

Sedona for New Year

Jay is such a terrific sport! I go to Sedona for retreats one or two times a year. These are wonderful experiences for me, I have learned to let go of emotional silliness that I used to identify with, by attending 'Sedona Method' courses and using these VERY simple techniques. Jay thought it sounded kinda cool and he joined me for the Dec/Jan retreat.

We left the Noyes hacienda and headed down through the National Park. We stopped for the ocassional Spectacular View!

Continuing southward this is the beginning of the Escalante Grand Staircase

As we headed further south we passed lake Powell which Jay has boated on several times in the past. We pulled in to take a look at the water level. Pretty low... we're hoping the winter runoff is decent and will fill the reservoir this year. It's going to take a LOT of water!

We got to Sedona and headed out to Verde Canyon where they have a train that runs up the canyon. It is a scenic route with some terrific history, wildlife and views. It was also a bit nippy outside on the flatcars, but that was where the best views were!

Bald Eagles nest in this canyon and I tried to make this picture a little larger so you could see it, but in the middle of the picture is this little dot that is the bald eagle sitting on the cliff...cooooooollllll.

Miss Sherril found us an AMAZING house to rent for the week. It had a 360degree view of the entire valley as well as being a watering hole for animals. The first morning Jay and I were there we saw this beautiful Cardinal drinking out of the water. It stayed there for quite some time and I got several terrific shots, this being one of the better ones.

Here's the crew relaxing in the living room. You can see the accomodations were quite nice. Good job Miss Sherril!!!

Another terrific shot we got on our very last minutes as we were living the house. Rich had seen Javalina several times while there. The rest of us hadn't because we had been attending the seminar. But at the very last minute, as Jay and I were getting into our car the Javalina came out of the brush! I hope you can see at least the backside of this little guy as I scrambled to get my camera out and not disturb him/her.

Our final Sedonaesque adventure was to hike around some of the cliff dwellings that are there.

We went back into Sedona for a little hot chocolate and then back home to Utah and California. It was a real treat to get to spend a week with Sherri and Richie and to have them meet Jay!!! I feel amazingly blessed!!!

The Christmas Extravaganza

So anytime you get 17 (+1) people together in one house for Christmas there's going to be a LOT going on all the time!

Andi decided it was time to get going with the unwrapping. Notice the foot position : >

Clark gets in on the act with Mom and Dad and Uncle Joe and Aunt Sara in the background

Dave joins in on the fun (he received the day 'fav' of a flying monkey - which Andi loves!)

The Main event Part 1

The Main event Part 2

After all the unwrapping it was time to use us some of the gifting received...this is the poor tree that suffered as a resulf : >...

Back at the old homestead, celebrants 'zone out' to a much deserved video!

It was a fantastic day. Jay drove down to join me in the evening and we had dinner with the Noyes clan!

The next day was time for the 'disbanding' of the participants. But first it was time to go out and do a little horse riding on Grandpa Noyes farm

Next adventure - Jay and Lynne go to Sedona

The 'Meeting' (Nicole + crew and Jay)

Since I'm still in 'catch up' mode as far as blogging is concerned, I will condense all the goings on from the Roatan dive trip through the Christmas/New Years Holidays. So many fun memories to post!

The first part (which was really fun and verrrrrrry cool to me) was introducing Nicole and her family to Jay. We arranged to meet over at his sister Marilyn's house the Saturday before Christmas. Well, long story short, it turns out that Nicole knew Marilyn and her husband Dennis already!!! When Nicole served as a missionary here several years ago, Dennis had been the ward mission leader and they used to have the missionaries over for meetings and lunch/dinners. It was so nice to see the excited look on Nicole's face as she got to see one of the families that she just felt so connected to here years before.

Andi decided Deven was a tall skinny guy like her daddy and she took to him just fine! Andi actually went over to him and put her arms out to be picked up : >

The girls catching up on old times!!!

Masaki and Clark check out the little train set Mare and Dennis have under the tree.

I aspire to have the kind of playroom that Marily has for her grandbabies. There was never any fighting for toys because there were just so many!

On to the Christmas extravaganza!

We have LIFT OFF!

Welcome to the new adventures of Jay and Lynne! The dynamic duo who, while part of the 'over the hill gang', never let our 50 something status slow us down!

I have to back up a bit, because I took some fun pictures when we went to Roatan, Honduras in December and I thought we should start there with the photo ops.

December wouldn't be December without a Christmas tree, and you can't help but have lovely thoughts of Christmas in the tropics : >. Here we are at our hotel in Honduras after a day of diving fun!

The group on our dive boat came from all over the US, Michigan, Arkansas, California etc. and were a lot of fun and just wonderful people to spend a week with. We had some technical problems along the way, but with enough experienced divers that it made for easy diving. It was my maiden ocean diving adventure and it was sure fun! Jay said the water wasn't as clear as he rememberd it previously, so we'll just have to go back again, sometime, in January, when everyone else is freezing in Utaha !!!

This was the sunset on the last evening we were there. A few storms had gone through (causing the visability problems) and made for beautiful sunsets.

Onward and upward to our December/January adventures.
