Catchin' up
Well it's been a crazy kinda month. Feels like I should write a book, 1 Reception and 2 funerals. We had our fun celebration of our wedding in early August followed by two deaths in the family (one on each side). So welcomes and goodbyes are what our existence is composed of... the world goes on either way. Thank goodness!
I wanted to post a few pictures from the day of the reception. These are of the boys (Richie and Jay) taking the bobsled run down : >. I've done it already once in the summertime and would like to do it one more time... but in the winter... on real ice : o!

The driver is someone trained to drive the bobsleds. They don't let amateurs drive those badboys!
OK, so eBlogger isn't letting me publish, again, for some reason. I'll try to add more later... DOH

Jumpin' July!
We are SOOOOO busy, that it's really tough to keep up with all the activites and post, but here's the latest update.
I headed down to Sedona, Arizona around the 19th of June for another 9 day retreat. You'll see a few pictures from there, shortly.
The drive down was really neat. I drove to Kanab the first day, enjoying the sights. The next day I finished the drive to Sedona. I stopped off in Page, AZ to take a little hike and some photos.
This is looking up at the Glen Canyon dam with Lake Powell in the background.

Here is the Colorado River below the dam. It's so nice to see the lovely green sage and other wildflowers blooming!

In Sedona, I had another fabulous week of learning, laughing and releasing. In between the retreat and the coaches training, a group of us went hiking up one of the canyons...
This is just one of the many spectacular views while on our hike. It was a good 15 degrees cooler than in Sedona proper which was quite lovely.

Here are two of my favorite Sedona buddies, Suzanne and Toine.

Any yours truely...

It was a lovely place to sit, enjoy the scenery and the quiet.
Jay joined me the last day and then we headed to Colorado for the 4th of July. We spent the day with my parents and in the evening we drove up to Palmer Lake to see their fireworks display. I was very impressed! I wasn't expecting much from little Palmer Lake (at least it was little when I remembered it!), but they put on quite a show. Their post fireworks traffic control left a little to be desired, but I would still go see it again (but probably park somewhere else).
On the 5th we did a little mountain bike ride in the morning, then decided to go up to the top of Pikes Peak. I remember driving up it with my parents as a kid, so I opted to drive it instead of taking the Cog Railway. I forget how stunning a view it is.
Here is the world from the top of Pikes Peak

And here we are, still enjoying our newleywed status, and the view, of course. It was about 54 degrees up on top and almost 90 back at the old homestead.

On Sunday we drove back to Salt Lake, taking I-70 to just past Greenriver and then up toward 89 and back home. The trip was about 9.5 hours, so very doable! It makes me verrrrry happy that I can drive down to see my folks relatively easily. The gas is gettin' a little pricey, but it still beats the airfare.
A few days later I celebrated my 52nd birthday. We went up to Pam's to have cake and play with the girls. It was a load of fun.
I always get a kick at how much fun the little girls have with Jay. He is the perfect grandpa! He plays so sweet with them. They are playing a kinda of peek a boo game which changes depending on what characters the girls want to be.

Andi has become the scary monster, so Jay is now 'hiding' behind the pillow. : >

It was a terrific birthday celebration, topped off with a call to the birthday boy, Edamame!
This week has been busy with play, business, riding and adventure. Today I went for a test ride in Park City. It was a two hour ride to check out trails that Jay and I can ride perhaps next week. I got lost (not a problem, I had plenty of water and an extra food bar), then found, then lost again. Ultimately finding my way back, and hopefully a route that will become a new favorite. Tonight I'm going to take a little bit of a nap, then we're going to go see the midnight showing of the new Batman movie! I just love hanging out with Jay, he is SOOOO much fun : >. He loves doing this kinda crazy stuff, and I'm kinda groovin' on it too!

Fun with B!
We had a visitor last week and I wanted to get some pictures up from our adventures. We went down to Moab to do a river rafting trip on the 'Westwater Canyon' of the Colorado river. It was fun and the potential for getting really wet was good, so we didn't take a camera. But the next day we did a little hiking in Arches National Park so here are some pics...
Window Arch from the back side after hiking around

Me 'n Miz B in front of 'The Three Gosspis'

Jay standing in front of the window arch. It's a little dark due to the sun in the background.

This is a picture of the water going down Little Cottonwood creek. The snow melt actually got a little greater a few days after I took this picture. Bini and I went hiking up the canyon after we got back from Moab. It's always so beautiful up there, and we often see the mountain goats. What a wonderful resource to have just 15 minutes away!

After Miz B left, I headed up to Pammy's to play. We had a little picnic outside while Albert worked on the kitchen window. Notice the mommy's 'see food' shot : >.

So a very fun week! It's always nice to have company and grandkids to play with!!!

More Fiji Pics and My DH!
I'm going to start with a lovely picture of flowers my Dear Husband brought home to me on Friday afternoon : >

Dori's from Fiji. This picture is for Tenna, Clark and Andi...

And a few more pictures from the wedding. Me and Jimmy (notice Jay in the background : > )

Jimmy and Jay had a good laugh...

Paolo doubled as a dancer after serving as a dive master during the day! Very talented indeed. It was really fun to watch him dance with the others after a week of diving.

WEDDING PIC's (at last!)
We went to our 'dive trip' reunion and finally got some pictures of the wedding from the other folks on the trip with us : >. They didn't know that I had accidentally deleted 'all' the photos from my camera. So now, thanks to Rob and Rachelle (our witnesses), John and Holly, Dave and Leann, Jerry, Terry, Colette, Jacquie, Heather and last but not least Michael from the Scuba Utah trip we have our photos. The staff at the Garden Island Resort (Ngaire and Dennis Irwin managers) were absolutely WONDERFUL the entire week and we especially want to thank them for making our wedding such a terrific event for us!!! Thanks to everyone! The dive crew were TOP NOTCH and we saw many amazing and beautiful things under water all week long. The housekeeping staff did a fabulous job of running the place! Food was great, and the rooms always neat and clean. The things done for the wedding were beyond words~!!! Thank you, thank you, thank you all!!!! Enjoy...
First a little of the underwater scenery, thank to the terrific photography works of several of the Dive Masters on our adventure

Yours truly floatin' underwater

This picture is a little too small to see all the lovely little christmas tree nudibranchs in their variety of color resting on the coral. As you can tell by the few pictures here, the colors were spectacular!

And now for the wedding. This is our wedding mat and arch prepared for us by the local Fijian people on Taveuni. We got to keep the wedding mat and still have the mat and will display it at home!

The vows with the Minister, Esala Nasaroa. He is such a wonderful man, and this bride was moved by his sweet nature in delivering the wedding vows. It was very obvious that he enjoyed doing weddings, and loved what it represented...

Jimmy (one of the dive masters) Minister Nasaroa and yours truly after the big event.

Ngaire and Dennis who organized the event (I'm sure like most weddings, I know who does the MAJOR work!). It was lovely and hopefully I'll get a copy of the wedding cake picture. Ngaire made a traditional fruit cake from their native New Zealand. It was delish! I usually am not fond of fruit cake, but this was extraordinare!

The entire crew from Scuba Utah at the wedding : >

The Dancing and Celebration!!!

Jay pays homage (just kidding). We do thank everyone for a wonderful wedding!

I plan to put a few more photos up in a different post of more of the diving and the WONDERFUL crew there.

Delinquent Blogger does POST!
Greetings ALL! My humble apologies for taking SOOOOOO long to post. I was stalling, hoping to get some wedding photos available, but haven't had any success yet, so they will be forthcoming. In the meantime, here is the calander of events:
March 19th: We leave for our trip to Fiji
March 20 something to 28th. We go to Fiji and have a WONDERFUL time diving (pictures will come as soon as we steal them from the other divers!).
MARCH 27!!! Lynne and Jay get Married in Fiji. Again the pictures will follow as soon as we steal them from the other divers. I accidentally deleted them from my camera, but we DO have a video that one of the other couples took. I just have to get the right cables to allow us to download. I will say, that it was a PERFECT day. We started off the morning with a dive. Before we got to the dive site, we were greeted with 4 pods of dolphins. It was an AMAZING sight! Our boat captain just drove around to the different pods while they were playing. No SeaWorld show could compare! After that we had our final wonderful dive in Fiji. The soft coral were all colors of orange, pink, purple, white... and we were in an area where we would pop our head up over the reef (where the current was swiftly flowing over) and saw a feeding world of the smaller colorful fish! All colors darting in and out, grabbing the food that flowed by. Wowwwwww.
Mar. 28th - Apr. 4th we go to Australia. Here we see lots of beautiful things on land and sea. We spent three nights on board a Mike Ball live aboard. The seas were a bit rough at this time of year but we still saw lots of fun things like the potatoe cod, white tip reef sharks and plenty of beautiful reef fish.
This is our WONDERFUL boat crew. A fun, professional (made sure everyone was ALWAYS accounted for after a dive), genuine group. And the food... Fantastic!!!

This is our group of divers, notice the newleyweds in the bottom right...

Here's a picture of my guy as he's 'stepping off' of the platform (about 10 feet above water) entry. I will get some picts from Jay and post them soon. He took some nice picts of our diving adventures. Noooo Jay.... don't j...u...m...p!!!

After the dive trip we did a little exploring in the upper Queensland region in the Daintree Rainforest area. It is the oldest rainforest on the planet and has some wonderful sights. We took a boat trip down the Daintree River with Chris Dahlberg. It was a really fun trip and Chris knows TONS about the area. One of the more spectacular things we saw were these 'Frogmouth' birds. They are well camoflauged so look CAREFULLY...

We also saw a python, a really cool spider (not a funnel web!), a crock in the water and lots of other birds. We also heard the kukaburra's laughing. Fun, fun, fun for an avid birder.
From Australia, we went to Japan to see Nicole and crew.
We timed it really well as the Sakura were in bloom. So we all went for a walk down to the park so Clark could see the Sakana (fish) and we could see the cherry blossoms. I love the look on Clarks face as Grandpa Jay keeps a watchful hand on our youthful fish observer.

And finally the blossoms. Enjoy

We will post the wedding photos and story when we get the picts.

Livin' in Utah
I arrived a week ago in Utah, and it's fabulous! The last two weeks of work for me have been quite busy. My company moved and we had to deal with all the little things that must be attended to in a laboratory move, but all in all, everyone said the move was much smoother than the last one and I'm very happy about that.
On my last day in Boston, I had some friends come by and pick up the last pieces of BIG furniture in my house, then I went out for a massage and to have my hair done one last time by my favorite hairdresser, Scott. After that I drove home, worked on stripping paint off my kitchen door one last time (dumb project I started over the previous weekend - DOH!). Then I popped into the shower and raced off to the airport in the pouring rain. I left my car keys in the rental car I was using, but they mailed them to me in Utah, so I'm already set there : >. It was actually a pretty fun day! Cause I was coming back to Utah, to see the kids and... Jay......
This week has been busy! Jay and I have done a lot of shopping for furniture, flooring for the kitchen, cabinets etc. I changed my residency on my license plates etc. But our first pictures are of Tenna's 3rd birthday party that we attended last night. She was a prima ballerina in the dress I bought her. It's always kinda cool when something you pick up manages to be a super hit!

The boys (Silver and Peeps) are doing well in their current 'temporary' location. They were in for a bit of an uproar as the party got into full swing...

And grandma got to enjoy some playtime with the girls afterwards. Grandpa and I 'babysat' for a few minutes while Pam dropped some dinner off for Al.

That was just oodles of fun for grandma, and the best part is knowing I can drive up and see them anytime (OK, anytime Grandpa and I aren't out on an adventure : ) ).
And I also want to put in another plug for this fantabulous man I have in my life. This is my Christmas present. He knows how much I love piano and he'd seen these before. This one has a lot of different options, but really sounds very much like a grand piano! Pretty cool stuff if you ask me. We don't have the space for a real grand, but this has the action and the sound and I am amazed at the technology that has gone into making these new electronic ones. We just had it delivered this morning. I'm still ooohhhhing and aaahhhhing over it. Now I have to dig the music out of the storage shed and warm up my fingers.

The BIG adventure begins next week. I'm not sure when I'll be able to download pictures and information, but I will as soon as I can.
Life is sweet. It's so nice to be sharing it with someone I love!

Days 3,4,5
I don't have any pictures from those days. I should have dug the camera out of the suitcase, but it was buried, really cold outside, snowing (A LOT) and it somehow didn't seem worth the effort : >
Day three we left Illinois and heading into Iowa. Got to Iowa City and was informed by a very nice Highway Patrol officer that the 'smart' thing for us to do was to get a motel room two exits down, and hunker down for the rest of the day. We took her advice. Smart thing!
Day four, it was amazing to see all the cars off the side of the road! AND it was pretty slow driving for the first 80 miles over snow packed roads. Once we hit Des Moines the roads cleared and we were on our way! We got 3/4 of the way through Nebraska. Near the home of Cabella's but it was too late and the store was closed. So we went in to town (???) for some Mexican food. Nice : >
Day five we finished the trip. Man it was nice to be in Utah! The birds were sure happy to be finished as well! A few days to rest and then all the furniture showed up!
Now I'm back in Boston, finishing up my company move (move done today!) I head back to Utah for good in another week!!! YEA : >. I miss my sweetie, but will see him very soon...

The Trip Out West
Now I will regress a little and cover the trip from Boston to Utah. Jay flew in on Valentines Day and gave me this really cute card : >. He had sent a dozen roses on Monday and I LOVED the fragrance they gave off in my office for the first three days. It was delightful! I gave them to my assistant Jaime after that. She told me later everyone kept asking her if her boyfriend gave them to her ; ).
The first leg of our trip we drove FIRST over to Elises house so that Jay could at least meet ONE of my New England friends. From there we popped on the Interstate and headed up to Buffalo and off to Niagra Falls! Jay had been there before but it was a FIRST for me!!!
Here we are at the American Falls. Notice the goofy 'holding the camera out to take our picture' expression on my(Lynne's) face - DOH. It was wet and VERY cold but very beautiful. The ice on the trees and the water was an amazing site!

We drove over to the Canadian side and looked at Niagra Falls from there! An even more spectacular view than the American Falls. What a terrific adventure, and I got to share it with the man I love. What more can a girl ask for??? After the falls we went and had a lovely dinner at a restaruant that overlooked the falls. We didn't have a view there, but after we ate, we walked down to one of the window to see the falls... nice to do from a heated enclosure!

The second day of our trip, we headed to the 'Land of Lincoln', Illinois. We stopped at Aurora and popped in on my friends Rich and Atsuko Madden. I didn't have their telephone number and it was getting late (we'd tried earlier but I mixed up one of the address numbers, so after I looked it up again on my computer, we ate, we headed back over and found them home (with some company)! It was SOOOOO wonderful seeing them again. I think Atsuko and I held each other for 5 minutes : >.

It's Official!!!
Post New Years
We went up to see Pam and Nicole and the babies before Nicole headed back. Unfortunately none of the picture of Nicole and Clark turned out very well but I have a few of my favorite shots of Jay and the little girls

The girls have such fun with Grandpa Jay. Andi just gets a kick out him and it's cool to see she just melts right into him!

Back in Boston winter is raging on! I just love the icycles, but you have to watch out for 'em!
